worst product ever January 8, 2009 I have never had something work so horribly. This thing wont work on ANY channel, I haveto hold it to ground it so it works. DO NOT BUY!!!
Great!! January 8, 2009 I love this FM Transmitter! It is absolutely great! I have had no problems whatsoever with it. I love that it cradles my iPod Touch and even charges it. The neck is very strong and does not move around. I highly recommend this product. It finds a station fast and the sound is extremely clear!
Serves the purpose quite well January 6, 2009 The Belkin was easy to use. It scanned and found the best stations. There is a bit of static, but I don't think that can be attributed to the Belkin. All in all I like it.
A bit disappointing January 6, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, the good news. This product looks great. Belkin put some thought into the design .. from the flexible arm to the interchangeable cradles. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read. I like the idea of just dropping my ipod in the cradle and not having to fuss with wires. And, of course, the tunebase keeps the ipod charged. The addition of a line out port is nice, since everyone knows how bad FM transmitters sound.
Now the bad news. The FM transmitter has lots of static (no surprise). Although it performs better than other FM transmitters I've used, it's still not very good. I receive plenty of static even when tuned to empty spots on the dial. How much static? Well, if it was a broadcast station I would skip it. I don't blame belkin for this .. the FCC limits the power of the FM transmitters.
More bad news. The clever line out port is worthless. I plugged this up to my cassette adapter and was treated to the worst noise ever produced by a car stereo. When my ipod is connected directly to the cassette adapter it sounds great, but when connected via the line out port on the tunebase it's a cacophony of terror. Imagine listening to an AM station while using your blender.
I give the tunebase three stars, because it's a really clever design and I like belkin. I wish I could say this product works great .. but it doesn't. It's acceptable when you have no alternatives, or perhaps if you only drive your car in tunnels.
For Ipod January 6, 2009 Belkin Tunebase FM Transmitter with ClearScan for iPod The only problem I enconter was that you need to keep changing the stations because of a bad signal.
