A great choice for workouts, public transit, and other on-the-go use, the device features a heat-resistant body that stands up to rough conditions, along with 100 seconds of electronic MP3 skip protection (45 seconds for CDs), a must for bumpy bus rides or morning jogs. Even better, the variety of compatible formats--which includes not only CDs and MP3s but also home-burned CD-R and CD-RW discs--gives listeners access to more of their digital music collections. Among the unit's playback features are 50-track programming, repeat play (one or all tracks), shuffle play, and resume. The unit also boasts a hold button that keeps you from accidentally activating the device when it's in a purse or backpack, thus preserving battery power. Audio-wise, the EXP2461 sports a 1-bit digital-to-analog converter that ensures a clean sound, along with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response.
