There is a pretty steep learning curve to use the device for eAudiobooks but I am getting used to it. Sound quality is good. Price was right.

I bought this a while back as a test purchase for the Zen Mosaic product line. I didn't want to foot the bill for a higher-capacity product like the 16GB until I tried this one. Over-all, it has been an excellent purchase. The display shows the full title and album cover of the music, and it has relatively easy menu navigation. I have used this strictly for music, not pictures or video. Sound output is very strong. It's almost too strong for headphones, being only safe for the lowest two settings. The device comes with a warning about not playing it too loud, and it's absolutely right. On the other hand, using a line-in connection in the car, or, as I have it connected to a 2.1 speaker system right now, it provides a wonderful output, clear and strong. The lithium battery means not having to buy AAA batteries all of the time. It isn't replaceable, but that doesn't bother me. I've had this device for a while, now, and it's still running quite well.
The headphones...well, check your ears after you use them, or you might embarass yourself when someone tells you that you've got little black sponges stuck in your ears. I prefer to use different headphones than the ones that came with it.
Regarding the software that came with it: I was not able to install it on my computer because I do not have higher than Windows XP without the Service Pack. I have tried to install SP2 about four times already, and it makes my computer crash every time, so this software is a no-go for me. When I try to install it, I get a message telling me to upgrade my operating system. Yeah, I'm going to upgrade my entire operating system for the sake of some bloatware...or, maybe not. I haven't found another way to import a playlist from my computer, though Windows Media Player does sync the device quite well, otherwise.
Before buying this product, I strongly advise comparing the prices of the different MP3 player capacities of the Zen Mozaic product line. Right now, the 16GB is the best deal, and I'm going to add it to my cart just as soon as I finish typing this.

As soon as I received, I charged the unit. I saw the menu display while charging so everything seemed fine. Then after fully charging (instructions say at least 3 hours), I unplugged the USB cable and clicked the power on button. Nothing happened. I repeatedly clicked it and nothing. No display light or anything. I then plugged the USB cable back in to see if it would do anything while connected to computer. Nothing. The unit was dead.
I am attempting to send it back now for a refund. Amazon's return service is down. I've tried the web page and to reach them by email and by phone. All three methods have given me an error saying Amazon return service and customer service was down. You'd think the email would at least have been sent.
Ugh! Now I dislike the unit and Amazon.

This is the third Zen I've bought for my family. We all love them. Easy to use, more features than an iPod and a heck of a lot cheaper. I'm very happy with the product.
