Sound quality terrible, product didn't work. August 31, 2010 M. West (Venice CA) Audio/mini jack out of back of unit severely lacking in volume and sound quality compared to just running a mini out of the top of the IPOD. Product didn't work at all at first, put new battery in, product kind of worked, but volume levels would increase randomly without touching the remote. Remote was lying on a table, so I didn't accidentally press a button when this happened, numerous times. Range average at best. Second day I tried it, did not work at all. Completely dead. Returned it.
Disappointment August 10, 2010 M. Makay (Kimberly, ID) When I first got my new dock, I was very excited. Immediately I tore open the packing and set it up. Once that was done I placed my Ipod in and hit play. The noise of my favorite song playing was ruined by static and abrupt silences in the song. Easy to put together, alright price, but horrible horrible quality for the sound. Not to mention I was a little sad to see it would not charge my Ipod at the same time. It was not worth the purchase since I cannot listen to my music without extra noise.
Great sound and price, only one concern. October 10, 2009 G. Herman (Rochester, NY USA) I've had a 60gb ipod for a long time and mainly use it to enjoy my large music collection at work. As a musician and a bit of an audiophile, I'd always found the sound coming from the ipod's headphone jack into my stereo at work disappointing. When I plugged the ipod into this dock, the sound improvement was HUGE! The imaging and bass response are vastly improved, and the highs are much smoother.
My only concern is that I can only get the gain up enough for really good sound by using the remote. The wheel on the ipod can only get it to a certain point. This is not a problem as long as I never lose the remote. It would make sense to not have to rely on the remote for good sound.
Generally, the biggest audio improvement I can imagine for $29.
Total dissapointment September 19, 2009 PrakThomas (Pennsylvania) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had hoped to plug my iPod into my stereo receiver and play it through my main system's speakers. Although techinically the product "works", the sound is grossly distorted to the point of constant distraction. Attempts to improve the sound by trying multiple input channels on the receiver, jiggling the iPod and forcing it down onto it's connection were all unsuccessful. I only use the unit as a stand and charging unit. A waste of money.
