Nice Dock December 3, 2008
I don't have an iPhone yet, but will next year. So I wanted something that I could use with a 3G as well as my current iPod 5th Gen. I had purchased a Sony clock radio dock but the sound was pretty poor. This Altec Lansing sounds much, much better. So I guess I'll keep the clock separate. It has very deep bass and a good overall tone. At the time of this review, Altec Lansing was offering a free wall mount bracket for just a few dollars shipping. There was an insert in the dock that I had to remove for the iPod (maybe the iPhone insert?). Nice dock, and the best I have heard sound quality wise. I don't buy Bose, so I have no idea about that unit.

The Altec Lansing digital speaker indeed does work with the iphone even if when the iphone is first docked it states it doesn't. When it says would you like to turn on airplane mode simply push no and play your tunes. It will work fine. This quirk like has some thing to do with differences between the first and second iterations of the iphone itself. This is a good value for the price and its built to last and very rugged. Best of all it's one sale now.

I just ordered the Altec T612 Digital Speaker for my iphone and was concerned about not having the 3G adapter. I got on the Altec Lansing website below and there it was, with no cost and free shipping. Pretty responsive.

Great System for Iphone November 25, 2008
Only true Iphone compatible player on the market. Can leave phone turned on and phone calls come through by having the music fade and start ringing. Music comes back in when call is over.

The Altec Lansing T612 is amazing...great clear sound, thumping floor vibrating bass, and can adjust to your taste in music! I am so happy I shopped around and read the reviews. It is a little more expensive than the rest but worth it. It is a perfect fit for those who paid the $400 and bought the first iPhone that came out. Our iPhone has speakers and can multi-task, but we can really party hooked up to this speaker system! That complaint about receiving a message about adjusting airplane mode and not receiving calls...simply turn on the T612, turn on your iPhone, from the menu select iPod, select the playlist your in the mood for, then place iPhone into the docking station, press play and enjoy! When a call comes in the music stops, and in my case my music ring tone plays, the iPhone lights up and I either accept the call or ignore and keep jamming!With the remote at hand you can even DJ your party from the dance floor!!!
