Just what I was looking for in an Ipod Touch protective cover. The leather is strong and yet soft for carrying in my pocket.
The shipping was instantainious and a very smooth transaction. Could not have been any better.
 Design flaw with metal clip March 9, 2010

I obtained an Ipod Touch8G at Christmas. To protect it I got a DLO Hip Case.I just returned from an overseas trip during which I kept the Ipod in the case at all times.The Ipod stopped working(Blank Screen) and when I removed it from the case I found a small dent in the metal back. The position of the dent is where the metal clip is attached to the case. I will be sending the Ipod to Apple to see what the problem is.If they confirm that the dent is the source of the problem there will be no warranty. The design of the clip results in a point load condition on the metal back of the Ipod. It needs to be redesigned to spread the load. I do not know when the damage took place. It may have been sat on or stood on but whatever happened it would have fared better if it had not been in the case.
I have e-mailed DLO service but they have not responded.

I recently received a 32GB Ipod Touch as a gift (yes, I'm a lucky gal) and of course, I immediately noticed how easily smudged the back of the Touch gets. And slippery, especially if you spend lots of time like me playing games. Since I do the majority of my shopping on Amazon, I bought a skin from one of the 3rd party vendors. Unfortunately, it didn't provide a snug enough fit and I also decided I wanted more protection for the big screen since I will be keeping it in my purse (along with who-knows-whatever lurks in there!). My mistake was that I searched for "iTouch" vs "Ipod Touch" and instead of this case, I found a portfolio style which again, I ended up returning due to its poor quality. Let me state that I have had good luck buying cases before for my Zune and cameras from 3rd party vendors. BUT, for the Ipod Touch, I wouldn't recommend it. The problem I figured out is that the USB port is really big plus there's an audio port as well on the bottom which seems to provide a design challenge to the smaller, less-funded companies. I actually first saw this case at Best buy for $15 more and it was only when I searched for "DLO case for Itouch" that it came up on my Amazon.com page. So, basically, I missed out on buying this "perfect" case b/c I was typing in the wrong name - DUH ! This case is exactly what I was looking for. It's made of REAL Leather, and more importantly, it protects the screen. It also provides easy access to all of the ports and you do not need to take it out to charge it (as I had to with my 2nd purchase). I am relieved to say that "I FINALLY found the perfect case for the Ipod Touch".
Good design, horrendous quality March 5, 2010

This case has been designed well keeping the iPod Touch fully functional when in the case. Belt clip can be a slightly tight at time, but works well overall. What I dislike about this product is the horrendous material and craftsmanship. The case, right out of the packaging, had a strong odor of kerosene. I've been using the case for 3-4 days and the smell is still there, I guess it will go away in a few days. The material is certainly not leather, no matter what the manufacturer claims. It is synthetic leather or as some folks call it "pleather". The stitching around the leather is shoddy and feels like it would easily come apart after only a few months of use.
Overall a good design, but quality needs significant improvement. This case has the finish and craftsmanship of a $3-4 case.

This case is exactly what we wanted. My wife's 2nd Gen iTouch fits perfectly. Unlike some other reviews, the case did come with cutouts for the sound adjustment buttons on the left side. All ports are accessible and we couldn't be happier with our purchase. Shipping was fast. This was an all round A+ transaction.
