Extremely poor sound range. These are going back! January 10, 2009 I bought these following some of the reviews on Amazon and I really thought these were fab... I even ordered 2 pairs, as I thought the price was too good to be true compared to the review... THe y fit well, no doubt. They are loud. No doubt. But the sound reminds me of some of these 1980 headphones you used to get with a cheap walkman. No highs, no bass, no dynamics and loads of muffled mediums. Any other $15 to $20 headphones I have played with so far sounds 10 times better! This is not a matter of taste, these are very poor quality headphones!
On the "HI" end of High Quality! January 9, 2009 These earbuds are just the best! The Black/Mint Green J2's I received have amazing sound quality that is incomparable amongst in-ear headphones in the market today. I have "odd-shaped" ears, and the small/medium/large interchangeable ear inserts are very handy and fit comfortably in my ear; this is a first for me with this style of earbuds.
These earbuds live up to their 'noise-cancelling' name! I have used them in very crowded and loud areas and have found a quiet sanctuary for me and my music without having to blast it through my headphones. On the flipside, I have found these to leak out little to no sound when used in a very quiet area.
They have a very refined sound quality to them. I've noticed that the bass end comes out very defined instead of boomy and loud, in comparison to other headphones. You can hear most, if not all, of the nuances and sounds of your music without having to play your music at full volume.
I feel that this product is worth every penny that it costs. I have used the predecessor ear buds to this version and just absolutely loved them. They lasted a long time, kept their quality, and was worth the price. I'm expecting nothing less of these ear buds! They are most definitely worth the price.
Satisfied and would recommend to most people. January 9, 2009 I never really used earbuds before I got these so I spent a lot of time trying to find a set that had good reviews and I could feel confident ordering. I narrowed it down between these and a few other pairs and ended up getting 4 sets of these due to a buy one get one free sale at the time that made it an irrisistible value. Overall, we am satisfied with them and would recommend them to most people for the following reasons.
-They are much more comfortable than I was expecting an in-ear device to be and they stay in my ear without shifting or falling out, even during activies.
-Noise reduction is good enough to almost or even completely silence a normal volume conversation with somebody next to you without even having any music playing.
-Volume seems to be ok and hasn't been a problem for any of us, though this depends heavily on the device you are using.
-The sound quality isn't perfect but it is still very good and should be more than enough for almost anybody, especially if your device has an equalizer or presets. You really do NEED to burn these in though. When you first get them they will sound very muffled and quite horrible but after a while the sound will completely change into what it is supposed to be. I simply left our sets playing random music all night long and would recommend something similar to anyone who gets these.
-The cord and everything else seem to be good quality and appear like they will last. Of course I don't know for sure because they are new. I only wish the plug was a right-angle plug or that there was a decent adapter available because the jack on my phone is on the side it's an odd shape to place in my pocket with this straight plug sticking out of it.
Cool colors and great sound January 9, 2009 Cool colors and great sound - what else could you ask for? Well for one the J2's do rock but it would be nice if they came with a case, even if it was just a cheapo one. The only other thing I could ask for is that they came with a cord clip. Speaking of cords, a great feature of the J2 is the cords are thick and well insulated. Why is that great? Well it eliminates cord artifact very well. Typically with low quality earbuds, one can hear the cords bumping or moving. All in all these earbuds are incredible. Make sure you let them burn in for at least 24 hrs and make sure you try the provided different size ear buds to make sure you have the proper fit. They work great for noise-isolating as I used them on a recent plane trip. They very effectively blocked out most of the surrounding noise and allowed me to listen to my mp3 player at a comfortable low volume level. I couldn't decide between the yellow and red, so I got both. Have gotten compliments on both colors.
good sound January 9, 2009 it has a good sound, you'll have to get use to the silicon ear bud, its not as firm as, say skull candy, but its still good. i just have one beef with it. it doesn't stay in my ear when i jog
