 Unusual Problem with these Earphones January 8, 2009
I usually love Bose products, but these ear buds are not so great. The sound is not really that much better than $20 Sony's. But the main problem I have with these is that I am a female with very small ear openings, I guess. Because I have tried all three sizes of the rubber pieces and they all fall out of my ears. They are okay if I am sitting still, but the main reason I wanted these was for my IPOD while power walking. I have tried loosely inserting them and also literally pushing them down in my ears, and they still keep popping out. The people who I pass on the paths probably wonder why I keep muttering bad words to myself as I keep trying to put them in. I called Bose and they were absolutely no help--just told me to try the different sizes. So much for customer service.
 Excellent buds, well worth the investment January 7, 2009
I'm a recent convert to higher-quality headphones, and these are my second pair. I got them to replace a set of Shure SE-110s which, unfortunately, the family puppy got hold of over the holiday break. I'd had some concerns rise during my use of the Shures, and thought I should look around before replacing them.
I chose these Bose buds because the sound was so rich and vibrant. The Shures had needed some boosting in the EQ settings to please my ears, but these Bose earphones are sensational without any tinkering. I was also happy to once again have earphones that are quick and easy to get in and out, but I was concerned about outside noise, as the primary perk of the Shures was their ability to block outside noise. While these Bose buds do allow more outside noise to trickle in, I was perfectly happy listening to my iPod amidst the crowd in a busy mall, and I forsee few problems with this in the future.
These have an excellent quality of sound and are whole-heartedly recommended.

I was expecting a superior sound and all I got was what i'm getting on a pair of ten dollar earphones. All Bose has got that is superior is some good PR.

The original iPhone earphones were OK, but lacked clarity of sound and were uncomfortable for me. Replaced them with V-Moda Vibe, and have been happy with those, with excellent treble, bass and mid-range but somehow they seemed to sound too precise and lacked the "analog" warmth, a very subjective statement, admittedly. The Bose provided this extra warm and fuzzy with a very comfortable feel to boot.
I am completely enamored by the little things provided thoughtfully with the phones - the protective case, spare plugs, lanyard and the clip to attach the phones to your clothing.
The one strange thing? The way the cord is colored .. what were they thinking? Ran out of red while producing Christmas candy-canes and used black instead? Yes, I know, it is a personal taste, but for phones costing this much, the least you would expect is something more subdued.
Overall, I am impressed!

These are great. Sound is great. They feel great in your ear. At first, I got tricked into buying a fake/counterfeit Bose in-ear phones on eBay. Never knew they existed. SO BE CAREFUL. Buy only from an authorized dealer. You will pay a little bit more but it is worth it. The sound difference from the new pair I just got and the counterfeit Bose In-Ear headphones off eBay is amazing. Bass is great. These are way better than the iPod Touch Apple headphones. BUY THEM. People that give these a bad rating may have got them from eBay and don't know they are fakes. If you have no mids and like muffled voice...then you have fakes.

I would no longer give these 5 stars. Probably 3 and 1/2. After purchasing another set of recommended in ear headphones I have come to conclude the sound of these are not that great. And they are not noise canceling in anyway. The set I did buy is Sennheiser CX-300. I got them on Amazon for $19.99. They have better sound than the $90 Bose. Better treble and noise canceling, I have them in now listening to music at low volume and can't even hear the TV or me typing. The bass is great. The Sennheiser CX300 is a better set for a lot better price.
