Don't buy from Buzmart or Dakmart Rip Off January 7, 2009 I don't know if this product is good or bad as I never received the new headphones I ordered.
They shipped refurbed headphones missing instructions, warranty card and adapter. They did agree to replace with new so I sent them back and in the meantime wrote a review stating what had happened with info on buying them elsewhere cheaper.
They contacted me and offered to ship overnight if I took my review down. I said OK, when I get the item I would remove the review. That would have been the following day if they really shipped it overnight. Well they never shipped the item and exactly 35 days after I ordered it they gave me a credit.
So I am out $10 for shipping, and allot of time and headache.
In the meantime I found the headphones for $1 less with free shipping from J and R and will have them in 5 days. They have always been great to do business with.
Lesson here...... Stay away from Buzmart on Amazon and Dakmart on eBay. They are the same.
Maybe a bad pair or am I missing something? January 5, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these headphones with high expectations. I read the reviews and felt these would be among the best. Still, I bough the Beats by Dr. Dre, QC2, QC3 and ATH-ANC7 as well. Long story short, I kept the QC2 and the ATH-ANC7 because they were the best. I really wanted to like the PXC450s because they were very comfortable, very high quality and the sound cancellation was second to none. However the sound quality was just bad. The sound was VERY muffled and muddy compared to all the rest. It didn't sound normal. You could hear the vocals well but not so much of the beat. I tried messing with the volume (on both my iPhone and the headphones) and messed with the EQ trying to find a good setting but no luck. If these sounded like the QC2s they would be my favorite bar none. For those that compared these to any of the others I listed, please tell me if you feel the same way. I may have just gotten a bad pair but they sound noticeably more muddy, flat and muted than the others, even at a higher volume. It is like there is a rag between the speakers and my ears. Please help me out here, I want to love them but I just can't like this!

I got my Sennheiser PXC450 noise cancelling headphone yesterday. What an improvement over cheaper phones I've had! Special thanks to those who commented they'd compared Bose. I had considered Bose, but knew nothing about Sennheiser. The sound is just what I wanted. The noise cancelling feature is great for me. You see, my husband is hearing impaired. Add to that the fact he watches TV in the next room and likes to shout at it . . . well, you get it. Now I have peace to listen to music, write, whatever I want.
The phones seem to be well-made. I like audiobooks, and they are great for that. Music? Wow! I'm hearing instruments I didn't hear before. I'm a confirmed Sennheiser user now. No more cheap headphones.
A revelation. OH. And I'm selling my Bose QC 2's..... December 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I Just took delivery of a new set of Sennie PXC 450's, and was surprised by several things.
First, these headphones are made in Germany. They hark back to an era when that fact alone meant something, and are as solidly made as a pre-1990's Mercedes. Those of you who were fortunate enough to own one of these automobiles will know what I mean. By comparision, my heretofore much appreciated Bose Quietcomfort II headphones seem lightweight and downright flimsy. Compare the weight and heft of the Sennheiser connection cable to the miniature diameter of the Bose Cable. And compare the way the Earcups are mounted to the headband (a standard complaint on the Bose's is that these have a tendency to snap and break, although in fairness, mine did not do so over many years of use).
Then there is convenience. These headphones have an independent volume control, and a shutoff feature that disables the noise-canceling feature. Handy. And finally, a large round button on the right earcup will mute the music you are listening to, and allow you to converse normally without removing the headphones. Awesome! Have you ever had to take off your headphones when the flight attendant comes 'round to offer you your peanuts? Well, all that is over now.
Next, the noise-canceling feature works wonderfully. Extraneous noises simply disappear, that's all there's to it. The Bose circuitry works well too, but has a most annoying characteristic, of picking up extraneous interference, i.e. someone else's Ipod or cell phone, and delivers it in the form of an annoying intermittent buzz....
Finally, you've got that amazing, clear Sennheiser sound, which allows you to hear details previously un-noticed. The QC2's simply cannot match the Sennies for clean, detailed sound. Sensitive sounds that are often lost in lesser quality reproduction (mid range oboes, and background vocals are good examples) spring to vibrant life. You'll hear details you never even suspected were there in your recordings.....
All in all, I'm sold. The QC2's are going on Ebay this afternoon....

After searching online reviews I settled on the PXC 450 headphones. Spent extra to express mail these headphones so I would have them on a cross country flight Florida to Seattle in two days. Opened the box tonight and found the headphones do not work - even used new batteries other than the ones included in the kit. Hopefully I can get another set overnight - otherwise all the music in my Iphone not be heard on this trip.
