Excellent, cheap headphones August 30, 2010 Yo'el A. Erez (Pleasant Hill, CA USA) These are great. I received them as a gift after doing several days of research looking for the best headphones I could get under 100 dollars.
The Sony MDR-V6 are super comfortable, I wear them for hours on end listening to music on my computer. They have amazing sound quality and get loud enough to use as miniature speakers.
But on top of all that is one of the best features: I live in a very small house, and my parents are usually sitting right behind me reading, or watching TV (my computer is in my living room). Even with them so close I can listen to my music loud enough to become completely immersed, and they can barely hear any, if any, sound leak at all.
Something interesting to note is that my own voice is muffled when I have the headphones on, but anyone else speaking I can hear loud and clear. Unless, that is, any music is playing. In which case no outside noise gets in, and practically none gets out (unless you have your music very loud. If it's loud enough to be easily heard outside of these headphones I fear for your hearing). So great sound isolation.
All in all, for the price especially, these are the best. They seem quite solid and unlikely to break, and even if they do 70 dollars is really not very much money to spend for something this great. I really can't recommend these enough. I mean, seriously, these are good enough that I decided to write a review for them. Which is saying a lot for me since I've purchased many products and no matter how much I loved them I've never written a review.
If you buy these I can pretty much guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Great Headphones. Fit is a little big. August 15, 2010 J. Flaherty (Lake Tahoe) I love these headphones. The sound is superb. Bass, Treble, etc... It's all super good. In the airplane they are just about noise canceling. The only beef I have with these is they are a little loose on the head. I'll take it though. I have used them with a Droid Phone, and I don't think they are quite loud enough sometimes. However, that is just the phones issue I bet.
Great Sound ...but horrible ear cups August 9, 2010 sean o. watson (Miami, Florida United States) Bought mine in 09. Months later the ear cups are "shedding their skin" and they fall off very easily. This is not the Sony quality I am used to. It does sound great but man these cups are horrible.
After all these months if I could return it I would

I bought 3 different sets of headphones and this is the set I ended up keeping. These are comfy, sound great, and feel like they will stand up to my daily uses. Did i mention they sound awesome?>
Great introductory studio headphones. August 5, 2010 w. 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had these headphones for a few months now and I really can't count the number of times I've recommended them to my friends. For anyone looking for an introduction into studio headphones (<100$), look no further.
The lows are low, the mids are mid, the highs are high... all aspects of the sound spectrum are rendered really well. And that's without plugging them into an amp!
The padding on the ears provides enough comfort for them to not become bothersome over the course of a few hours, and the extra long cable means you can move around your studio as necessary without unplugging them or taking them off.
