DreamGear i.Sound 2X - Includes Adapters for Nano and 5G September 15, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The set has surprizingly good sound for the size. The set folds into a convenient travel size, but when opened, the speakers cannot be separated from the base. Overall the sound quality is good but bass distorts when reaching full volume. The set comes with two adapters for convenient "standing" of your iPod Nano or iPod Video (for example 5thG iPod 30Gig or 80Gig--or equivalent same size). This adapter is merely a "cradle". sit the iPod in it and plug the 1/8" plug into the top. For the Nano, it has a plug built in to the cradle--a great feature if it worked. Unfortunately the downfall is that the Nano adapter does not fit an iPod 2G Nano as it states it will. The plug, built into the cradle, is mounted too far away from the edge of the cradle--preventing it from being plugged in, and essentially rendering it completely useless. The speakers can still be used but you end up with your Nano laying on the table next to the speakers instead of being able to use this otherwise very neat stand (as is illustrated in the sales promo pictures). I would recommend this unit to someone looking for inexpensive travel speakers with good sound--as long as you don't care about the uselessness of the Nano adapter, and as long as you plan to power them with an AC adapter (not included). If not, keep a good supply of AAA batteries on hand. It uses four of them, and they don't last as long as the iPod's charge, so you'll replace them often.
Inexpensive but ... September 9, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These speakers seem to be sold under many names, so SHOP BY PRICE. Input is thru an earphone jack, so you can plug in any ipod or audio device that has an earphone jack(portable radio/cd player/mp3 player etc.)The sound is good for the price. Heavy bass will distort the sound-sorry no lush bass. And if you crank it up, it sounds distorted. These speakers runs on 4AAA batteries or a USB2 jack for your computer-included. (I bought a 6volt adapter for mine and tried it with the batteries in. Mistake! It began to melt.) This device uses batteries quickly. Also, the first unit I bought arrived broken because of cheap construction. It was replaced by the seller (not this one) without a problem. --I am happy with these speakers.-- And if they don't last forever, that's okay because they are so cheap. Again, shop by price. If these speakers look the same in the picture, they are the same. For best sound, adjust the sound levels on the iPod and the speakers.
Its okay February 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought they were going to be really cool when i got these speakers. I was wrong. It was okay at first, then they got fuzzy and the sound is all distorted. I guess since they aren't expensive, you get what you pay for... so i suggest spending more money
