 Everything I wanted and more! December 13, 2008
I got this as a gift and I couldn't be more pleased. First of all, I was very thankful that this is able to be switched between 110V and 220V at will and comes with the plug adapters since I travel frequently. I was also pleased to discover that the iLuv charges my iPod as it plays without having the deal with the same frustrations as charging it from the computer requires. Also, I didn't realize until I opened it, but it also has a AM/FM radio. Not that a radio is that big of a deal, but at least it can be more than just an iPod accessory.
Another person has pointed out that this device drains batteries like no tomorrow. That makes since because it has it's own black-lit screen and charges the iPod at any time in which it is plugged in. Basically, while this CAN run on batteries, I think only a fool or someone who has stock in Duracell would actually do it. After all, it comes with a power adapter for a reason (one which I have already pointed out works in any country) and it is portable enough to be put into just about any carry-on bag.

I was searching for a component to supplement my ipod while outdoors, i was needing it to have a remote and i wasn't looking to spend a lot. I also wanted something that produced a quality sound, not something that once it was turned up more than half-way became distorted and offensive to the ears. So i seen the iluv seen the price read the reviews and rolled the dice. I must say I am pleasantly surprised, it was a very inexpensive unit, with a very nice sound quality. I use it when I am in my pool mostly and like the remote function. Although the unit does have its draw backs, it more than makes up in versatility it can play all of the different ipods including the nano shuffle. It is light and easy to use I enjoy it and think it is well worth the money.

I only give this product 1 star. This unit eats batteries. Even without having the iPod installed this portable player still depletes the batteries quicker than other portable radios. BTW, I posted a review at the iLife web site a few weeks ago. They refuse to show it. All they want to post is a letter with a four star rating.

THE STEREO IS NOT AS LOUD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I HAVE TO TURN IT UP TO 20 TO HEAR IT BY MYSELF. ITS GOOD FOR A BEDROOM OR LIVING ROOM OR SOMETHING, ONCE I HAD A GROUP OF PEOPLE IN THE ROOM AT MAX VOLUME 40 IT WAS HARD TO HEAR. I GOT IT FOR A PORTABLE OUTDOORS RADIO, I THINK ITS NOT GOING TO BE LOUD ENOUGH TO HEAR OUT SIDE WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE VIDEO FEATURE TO WORK. THE SPEAKERS ARE ABOUT 1/4 OF THE SIZE OF THE SHOW SPEAKER SCREEN/COVER. ITS OKAY FOR THE PRICE.

The product itself is really good the only downside to it is that it doesn't operate on 240v.
